Download this page and run your web browser on it using a file:// URL. The camera control buttons might not work if you run it from this site, due to JavaScript security issues.

Enter the host name of the camera and its port number, without any "http://" etc., and push "Set". You should see the camera image, with continuous updating.

Try pressing one of the arrows to pan or tilt the camera. Your browser may warn about cross-site scripting. Read the source for security issues and then tell the browser that's OK. It wouldn't be necessary if the camera served this script from its own domain name.

The asterisk centers the camera, "Scan" will pan all of the way left and right once, and "AutoPatrol" only works if you've already configured points for the camera to patrol.

This could profit from lots of additional JavaScript hacking, if anyone wants to do it.

Now, how do we get this into the camera firmware? Write to bruce at perens.com if you have the answer.
